Portfolio support

Momentum Sprints

Three months, from a technology that works to a buyer who is compelled.

Who it is for

The company that built the thing and cannot say who has to buy it.

A portfolio company that has built the thing, cannot say who is compelled to buy it, and has a raise coming.

What it addresses

  • Positioning that describes the technology instead of the buyer’s problem
  • A pipeline of interested parties with no budget authority
  • Pricing set from cost rather than from value displaced
  • A capital narrative that assumes the investor will do the translation
  • A first deployment that keeps slipping because nobody has named what actually unblocks it

Structure

Weekly, with the specialist the technology requires.

  • Weekly working sessions with the principal and the relevant bench specialist
  • Market and competitive assessment specific to the technology and geography
  • Named-buyer segmentation with the trigger and budget line identified for each
  • A go-to-market roadmap with milestones tied to the next capital event rather than to the calendar
  • Capital narrative and pitch reconstruction
  • Direct access between sessions

Deliverable and terms

A plan the company can execute and the board can hold them to, with the assumptions written down so they can be tested rather than argued about.

Before you ask for it

Fifteen lines. Ten minutes. Nothing to send us.

A Momentum Sprint is the right instrument for a specific problem, and the wrong one for several problems that look like it. The checklist is how you tell.

Fifteen statements about who buys, whose budget pays, what forces them to act, whether the cost case survives without a subsidy, and who owns the buyer relationship. Tick the ones true of you today — a tick is a gap, not an achievement — then count.

Tick six or more of the fifteen and this is the instrument. Ten or more and the honest reading is that you may not have an undated buyer but no compelled buyer at all, which is a different conversation and a cheaper one to have now than later.

Nothing to fill in here, no email required. The boxes are fillable on screen if you would rather not print it. Every line carries the dimension it maps to in the assessment method.
